It is my pleasure to invite you to Raking Weeds Collective’s first exhibition, on November 13 - December 12th, 2021. There will be an opening reception: Saturday, November 13th, 5-8pm, masks required. Come view collaborative and individual works of the artists at AC2 Gallery located at 301 Mountain RD NE in Albuquerque, NM 87102.
Raking Weeds Collective was founded in 2020 during the COVID crisis to investigate how concepts such as unconditional beauty, transcending grasping and rejection and going beyond hope and fear, apply to their creative process. From their on-going dialog emerged a mutual interest in collaboration and a commitment to use materials that are not harmful to the environment. Artists will share their manifesto and exhibit both their individual work as well as recent collaborative pieces made in the tradition of Exquisite Corpse.
The contemporary artists include: Monika Bittman (Santa Fe, NM), David D’Agostino (Albuquerque, NM) and Danila Rumold (Albuquerque, NM). Raking Weeds Collective’s exhibition will be on view at AC2 Gallery, 301 Mountain Rd, Albuquerque, New Mexico November 13 - December 13th. Artists will be hosting several events, including online talks, demonstrations with making natural dyes and pigments and one-on-one appointments with visitors to the exhibit.
